We believe that language is more than a means of communication—it is a bridge to relationship, discipleship, and the Gospel. Learning another language allows us to better love, serve, and connect with people in their heart language, reflecting Christ's humility as He entered into our world. As YWAM SDB we are committed to Latin America and believe in reaching and reading up latinos for missions. There are currently 520 million native Spanish speakers who are a potential force for missions worldwide!
In this elective, you'll develop practical Spanish skills specifically designed for missions and everyday ministry. You’ll be challenged to grow in your Spanish no matter your skill level. You’ll engage in learning, will have homework and challenges and will be in a safe an environment to focus on learning Spanish.
Whether you're preparing for outreach, serving in a Spanish-speaking community, or simply want to be better equipped for the nations God may call you to, this elective will give you foundations to continue to grow and develop in Spanish. As you grow in your language skills, you'll also gain a deeper appreciation for culture, hospitality, and love for the Spanish speaking world.

La fase de Lectura
We have 6 DTS schools each year that begin every January, April & September and each one runs bilingually in both English & Spanish. The DTS opens with a three month lecture phase where students discover more about God while surrounded by God's beauty in beautiful Baja California, Mexico just south of San Diego. Each week students have a new guest speaker, and each week focuses on a different topic. Throughout the week students will worship and pray together as well as read through the bible together. Students live in a close knit community with one another and encourage one another to grow in their walk with the Lord. There is also time to meet in small groups, and the opportunity to be personally mentored & encouraged and discipled by our YWAM staff. The lecture phase includes food, housing as well as your tuition all for $3,995 USD.

¡Pasa una fase internacional de 8 semanas para IR, SERVIR Y COMPARTIR el increíble amor de Dios al mundo! Te aventurarás a una comunidad que no está familiarizada con la historia de Dios y usarás tu nueva mentalidad misionera para transformar vidas con Su amor.
Realiza misiones prácticas a través del trabajo de servicio, la oración, el culto y la pasión que elijas potenciada durante tu optativa.
Entre los posibles destinos se incluyen: América Latina, Sudeste Asiático, Europa del Este, Caribe o África.
